A Nigerian delegation headed by the President and Founder of the African Children’s Talent Discovery Foundation, Dr. Noah Dallaji, recently concluded a two-day working visit to Liberia.
The Dallaji-led delegation was made up of youth talent development experts, notable business moguls, Investment and finance experts, University Lecturers, Politicians, and famous musical artists. The visit was at the instance of Liberia’s Vice President, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor who wanted a fresh dimension to Nigeria/Liberia relations especially in the areas of youth development and engagement and holistic Investment.
Apart from bringing his mission of helping young African talents to develop and expose their varied skills to Liberia, Dr. Dallaji’s trip also enable entrepreneurs in his delegation to explore investment opportunities in several sectors in the country, including Agriculture, Energy, Education, Youth Development and Empowerment, and Real Estate development.
The Noah Dallaji Legacy Project mission provided an avenue for Liberia’s Vice President, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor to convene a meeting between members of the delegation and Liberians business community where they interacted on possible bilateral investment opportunities.
Experts believe that this auspicious initiative by the Vice President of Liberia in association with Noah Dallaji Legacy Project and the ACTDF is in advancement of President George M. Weah’s desire to open up Liberia for business.
Among the powerful Liberian institutions the Dallaji delegation met were the heads of the National Housing Authority, the National Investment Commission and the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority. The Liberian top officials, in reaction to Dallaji and his entourage’s powerful presentation expressed readiness to work with the Nigerian trade delegation through the provision of an enabling environment amongst other incentives.
In continuation of its African Talent Discovery Outreach that had taken the ACTDF to Ethiopia, Egypt and across Nigeria Dr. Dallaji and delegation met and interacted with the All-girls Student Council Government of the JJ. Roberts High School. While at the School, Dr. Dallaji and the Vice President inspected the basketball court project being fully funded by Dr. Dallaji. Africa realised today that Africa has someone to transform its talents.
According to the Principal, JJ Roberts High School, Monrovia Liberia, “Dr. Dallaji, you stand for social justice, eradication of poverty and development of talent. The basketball court is a symbol that Africans have started to work together as partners in progress. Your Excellency, thank you for coming to Liberia to see the amazing work that young of the house.”
In brief remarks, Dr. Dallaji encouraged JJ Roberts High School students to remain focused on their dreams if they are to become successful in what they aspire for in life. He also encouraged them to participate in the ACTDF Scholarship Scheme aimed at helping young African talents realise their potential.
In continuation of his activities to Liberia, Dr. Dallaji signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jewel Starfish Foundation on behalf of his foundation, which aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two institutions for youth development and Empowerment.
The founder of the Jewel Starfish Foundation and Vice President of Liberia, Chief (Dr.) Jewel Howard-Taylor, who signed for her foundation, termed the MOU as impressive for girls education in Liberia.
The delegation and the Vice President then visited the Liberia Basketball Association, where they all watched live basketball games to support youth development in sports.
Earlier, the Vice President accompanied Dr. Dallaji and delegation to the chambers of the Liberian Senate where the delegation officially made known their plans to invest in the different sectors of trade and commerce of Liberia. In the words of the Protem President Liberian Senate, Albert T. Chie, impressed by Dr. Noah Dallaji’s mission statement, “We see a lot of potential from Nigeria in a great way. We are grateful for this visit.”
Meanwhile, Liberia’s Culture Ambassador, Julie Endeehas appreciated the head of the delegation Dr. Dallaji on his interest to consider Liberia for investment purpose. She consequently honoured him with the garment of a chieftain under the authority of the Liberian cultural Council of chiefs.
Dancing to live cultural performances, Madam Endee presented traditional gowns to Dr. Dallaji and members of his delegation as a mark of respect from the traditional people of Liberia.
