The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos Chapter, has said the idea of the Lagos PR Fest stemmed from the need to provide effective tools that can be used to revive the nation’s economy as a solution provider to government at all levels and the private sector in times of economic challenges.
Speaking at a press briefing to unveil Lagos PR Fest 2024, in Lagos, recently, the chairman, Lagos NIPR, Mrs Comfort Obot, stated that the chapter intends to achieve this by coming up with unique narratives that would promote the collective heritage of Lagos and its people.
She disclosed that the chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and conference coming up between July 5 and 11, tagged, ‘Communication and Culture: Reawakening Our Unique Heritage,’ would provide the opportunity for the chapter to bring together stakeholders involved in telling the stories of Lagos and Nigeria.
This, she added, is designed to showcase some of the positives individuals and businesses could leverage to enhance their bottom-lines.
Obot said, “Lagos PR Fest is about using our unique stories to promote our collective heritage. Public Relations is about telling stories. It’s about managing reputation.
“It is time to turn the page for Nigeria. Tourism can only thrive in countries that have successfully told their stories using different PR tools. And that is where we come in. Lagos PR Fest will liaise with different stakeholders to ensure that our state and country become the destination of choice.”
