On Tuesday, the body of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari was laid to rest. His death brought back many memories for Nigerians, young and old. Aunty ‘Yemi spoke with some young people to find out what they remember about the late leader.

President Buhari helped to build more roads and told us to eat more local food. He said we can make many things from cassava, like garri, eba, and elubo. That was interesting to me.

I remember how he fought Boko Haram in the North East. He wanted peace in Nigeria. I also remember when the border was closed, and things like garri, cassava, and rice became expensive.

Buhari was sick before he died. When he was President, there were rumours that he had died and that someone else named Jubril from Sudan was the one ruling Nigeria. He built many roads and did well when he was alive. He was a rich man and had many daughters. During his burial, his wife cried.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari was president for eight years. He was 82 years old when he died. He allowed Emefiele to spoil Nigeria’s money. When he became very sick, he was taken to London for treatment because Nigerian doctors could not treat him well. He died on July 13 and was buried on July 15.

His full name is Muhammadu Buhari. He was born on December 17, 1942, in Daura, Katsina State. He was the Nigerian president from 2015 to 2023. During his time, the borders were closed, which made food scarce, and people struggled to feed themselves well.

Buhari was Nigeria’s former President. He ruled for eight years. I remember when he allowed Emefiele to spoil Nigeria’s money. He was sick in Nigeria and taken to London because our hospitals couldn’t treat him well. He died in London, and we were given a public holiday to mourn him. May his soul rest in peace.

Buhari was Nigeria’s former President. He ruled for eight years and was 82 when he died. His wife’s name is Aisha. He died in London on July 13. During his time as President, Nigeria’s currency was changed, and things became more expensive.
