No fewer than nine communities have benefitted from the N150 million Naira micro projects of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA).
While presenting the cheques, the General Manager of the agency, Mallam Dauda Momoh, on Thursday said the 21 micro projects executed in the nine communities is worth over N150million.
The General Manager disclosed that each of the benefitting communities has projects worth N15 million, saying the projects executed in the communities cut across water, hospitals, schools amongst others.
He added that the agency is still Intervening in several other communities under the NG Cares program, while advising the communities that have successfully completed their projects and those that received their retention fee to own the projects, adding that the agency would from time to time visit the communities to monitor and supervise the projects towards ensuring adequate utilization.
Mall. Momoh added that more communities in the state and those who have completed their stand to benefit more projects from the state government if the previous projects are well put into use.
He thanked the communities that successfully completed their projects for working to specifications and delivering the projects on time.
The communities that benefited from the over N150 million projects, Mall. Dauda Momoh include; Abache, Adavi Eba, Angwa Ogebe, Asanta, Bagido, Ebogogo, Eika Ohizenyi, Ebokehi, Gboloko Community.
The Representatives and spokespersons of the benefitting communities in their separate remarks thanked Governor Yahaya Bello while receiving cheques worth N5.4 million as retention fee for the successful completion of the N150 million projects executed by the government through the agency.
In their separate remarks on behalf of the nine communities, Dr. Akin Oloniruha, of Asanta Community, Adejoh Habibat Jummai, Gboloko Community and Chief Ayo Olubunmi, Bagido Community, praised the state government for funding of the projects, pointing out that the projects have greatly reduced the sufferings of people in their Communities.
The Community spokespersons expressed appreciation that the projects which has a direct bearing on the well-being of the people, has greatly alleviated their sufferings, pointing out that the absence of the completed micro projects over the years, had caused untold hardship on people of the communities.
The spokespersons attributed the successful completion of the projects to close supervision by the KGCSDA and the timely release of funds by the government.
The communities assured of owning the Projects by guiding it jealously and to use it for the purposes intended, saying the successful completion of the projects was made possible by the love of the Gov. Bello’s administration in alleviating their sufferings.
