The management of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) has said the company will continue to develop innovative products and services that will further strengthen its bond with Nigerians, despite the nation’s trying economic and security times.
The company’s Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Mrs Shade Morgan, who stated this during a parley with the media, over the weekend, added that the company had not been affected, in anyway, by the insecurity situation of the country.
She stated that the company had been able to weather the storm due to its wide reach, in all the nooks and crannies of the country, especially the location of its manufacturing plants and depots in all the geo-political zones of the country.
Morgan also stated that the company had, over the years, come up with initiatives that had brought smiles on the faces of many Nigerians, especially the youths.

One of such initiatives, she pointed out, remains the company’s ‘Millions don land’ programme, an empowerment initiative, that gives opportunity to some of its retailers to make some money through the sales of its products.
“The programme has taken some of the youths off the street and, as a result, making it look as if Coca-Cola products are not available in traffic anymore.
“Many of those youths that sell in traffic are out of school. They needed money to go back to school. So the ‘Millions Don land’ initiative is designed as an empowerment programme for such people. They are able to set up their shops, with the initiative and realise their dreams. That is why it seems you no longer see our products in traffic,” Morgan explained.
She also explained that the decision to come up with Coke Zero, was borne out of the need to heed the call of some of its health-conscious consumers, desirous of a soft drinks beverage, devoid of sugar.
“So we have this Coke Zero that is made up of Aspertin, a sweetener that is not sugar, for those watching their waistlines and sugar intake,” she added.
