We can’t be youths forever, we need synergy to rebuild Nigeria ―Falola

Published by

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Ayoola Falola, has lamented the way Nigerian youths are treated when it comes to political, leadership and governance issues in the country.

The Oyo State politician, in his mid 30’s, made this known last Thursday when he visited the national youth leader of his party, Prince Muhammad Kadade Suleiman, in Abuja.

“We are not going to be youths forever,” he said. “We have the vibrancy and the energy. We need to welcome platforms that will help us synergize on how we can rebuild Nigeria.”

He shared his dream and vision of a “great Nigeria” with the national youth leader and gave reasons why youths need to be supported and not limited in their aspiration to serve the country.

He explained his reasons for running for presidency, and the aims and objectives of his aspiration.

“My plan is to see Nigeria as a just society, and to work on eradicating poverty and hunger amidst our people,” he said.

Prince Suleiman, in his responses, expressed optimism that a youth is vying for the highest political office in the country. He advised Falola to consult wide and wished him well on his political journey.

He said he is aware of the challenges youths face in taking up leadership positions in Nigeria.

He recalled how people would say he was too young to be the national youth leader of their party.

Suleiman stressed that since youths are the most populated people in the country, Nigeria needs to look for ways to ensure they are not sidelined in the leadership affairs of the country.
