THE governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, has charged students of higher learning in the state to vote for competent candidates in the general elections in securing their future.
He advised them to be actively involved in issues of the election by supporting candidates with proven pedigree and character.
Isiaka stated this while addressing Students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa who came out in their numbers to show support for the governorship hopeful during his campaign tour of Igbesa in Ado/Odo-Ota local government area of the state.
He said that the students can not afford to show political apathy, especially as the stakes are much higher in the 2019 elections.
“What I can say to you, is that I am no stranger to you all. You know me and my records are in the public domain. Students, you must sit down on your own and make an informed assessment of all the candidates and then make your informed decision.

“It should not be a matter of the highest bidder. My message to you is that you should not sit on the fence. You should get involved. Choose wisely and bear in mind that if you choose well, you will be at peace with yourselves and also secure your future through dividends of good governance,” he said.
Isiaka promised to resuscitate the bursary and scholarship board for the State’s tertiary institutions, adding that his administration, if elected, would promote vocational training and encourage students to embrace entrepreneurship, noting also that human capital development ranks high on his government’s priorities.
The Guber candidate said, “Ou4 will promote technical and vocational education. These days, it is not necessarily about what you study in school, but more about what you have a passion for. Ours is to help you pursue your passion and make a living from it. We must also understand that if we do not invest in human capital development, we are not going anywhere.”
