In a world where fewer women are visible in the political, financial and governance spheres, it is imperative to have women’s communities that will encourage women to express their vulnerabilities in a safe space and be empowered by one another.
Omodolapo Jayeola, a mom, founder, and brand strategist, promotes women empowerment with her initiative, Goal Women Africa.
Omodolapo has committed herself to empower women; hence she is launching a women’s community in September for women to optimise their potential, care for their mental health and network with others who can connect them with opportunities to flourish.
She explains: “Goal Women Africa community is an initiative geared to help women relieve the mental stress of not being heard or not being enough in the society to which they belong.
“It is a community that seeks to illuminate the desire of women to become more empowered and have access to programs and facilities that enhance their skills and expertise.
“We aim to help women appreciate and embrace leadership skills and organise mentorship projects to help them improve their deliverability.
According to Omodolapo, women who join communities like Goal Women Africa will experience and leverage great networks, Skill enhancement, Leadership training, and enterprise scale-up.
Research has shown that Women’s communities encourage sharing stories and journeys, which help break archaic patterns.
Negative patterns in child marriage, female genital mutilation, and spousal abuse are tackled by sensitising women in their collective forum.
More so, female empowerment in Nigeria, which is often a poverty reduction measure, should not only be about finances but also ensures the development of women’s political, social, economic and mental strength for nation-building.
This is why initiatives like Omodolapo’s Goal Women Africa are imperative to bridge the gender gap and increase the inclusion of women in the social and political sphere of life.
Goal Women Africa is set to officially launch her community for women on 23rd September, 2023, at Jogor Center, Harvester Drive, off liberty road, Ibadan. To register, visit Attendee Confirmation Form (office.com) or contact Omodolapo at +234 901 838 1439
