A protester named Emmanuel, an eight-year-old boy, has joined the #EndBadGovernance protest, stating that her father can no longer afford to pay her school fees or the house rent.
In an interview with AIT News on August 2, 2024, Emmanuel explained why she decided to participate in the protest on its second day.
She said, “I am joining the protest because I want the federal government to reduce the prices of things,

My dad cannot afford my school fees or the house rent. Also, Nigeria is not the same as before; things that used to cost ₦50, like biscuits, now cost ₦100.”
When asked if she knew the exact amount of her school fees, Emmanuel confirmed that she had been sent out of school due to non-payment.
