VIDEO: Mark Angel paid me N50k, Emmanuella N20k while making $160k monthly — Denilson

Denilson Igwe, a former member of the Mark Angel Comedy crew, has alleged that Mark Angel, the group’s founder, paid him N50,000 and Emmanuella N20,000 while they were making $160k monthly in 2016.

Speaking on the “Honest Bunch” podcast, Denilson claimed he was a key figure in creating the Mark Angel Comedy skits while working as a cameraman.

He alleged that Mark Angel, then a security guard, requested the creation of a Facebook page, which he later monetized without informing the crew.

Denilson also accused Mark Angel of misleadingly presenting a 2014 car purchase as a gift and claimed that Emmanuella, the prominent child comedian in the group, was paid a monthly salary of 20,000 Naira.

This was despite the crew being unaware of substantial revenue generated from the Facebook page, reportedly up to $160,000 per month.

Denilson, who described himself as an orphan, expressed that he felt compelled to speak out because he had observed adverse outcomes for others who criticized Mark Angel.

His allegations have sparked controversy and raised questions about the financial and managerial practices within the Mark Angel Comedy group.

He said, ” I am an orphan , Mark was the elder brother of the house, he’s a security in Kilimanjaro GRA, Port Harcourt. I do camerawork for them. There was a man Ifeanyi…. on our own free time , I would do those comedies.

”Mark said let’s create a facebook page and I said okay. I don’t know when it was monetised, I just keep doing this stuff. Suddenly, 2014, he bought a car .I asked how he got the car, he said somebody gave it to him.

”He started paying Emmanuella N20K everymonth. You know we were poor, we didn’t know the value of the comedy. 2015 was the first time he gave me N50k., and we were making $160k monthly.

The only person that can talk about him is me because I am an orphan… If you have problem with him, it’d either you die or you have accident…”
