Pastor Tunde Bakare, the senior pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, has said that he is not through with Nigerian politics yet, hence, he will be running for president of Nigeria.

A former running mate to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bakare, speaking with his church members during the crossover service at his Ogba, Lagos church, on Monday morning, said he was instructed by God on this next step.

Bakare said God told him to “return to politics and run for president and lead the nation to prosperity.”

In 2011, Bakare was the vice presidential candidate with Muhammadu Buhari on the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) platform but lost the election to Goodluck Jonathan.

Still maintaining his close relationship with Buhari, Bakare supported him to win the 2015 presidential election where he eventually defeated Goodluck Jonathan.

Bakare told the Latter Rain Assembly members, “I heard the Lord say to me, politics is not over for you, there is still one thing left for you to do; run for president

“And He said to me, I will work it out myself. I will make it happen in due course. Please trust me, I lie not in the Holy Ghost. This is not easy for me to share with you. I shared this with you so that you can pray along with me.”

“I will make it happen in due course,” Bakare said, affirming that God has not told him the exact time for his presidential run.
