Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku took to the streets in a solo protest on Monday to raise awareness about hunger in the nation.
In a viral video circulating on social media dated July 8th, 2024, Anuku was seen holding a flag with the inscription in pidgin English, “Hunger dey ooo” (meaning “hunger is real”).
He continued shouting, “Hunger dey,” reflecting the sentiments of many Nigerians due to the current state of the economy.
Anuku’s protest highlights the ongoing struggles faced by numerous Nigerians who encounter daily challenges in securing sufficient food for themselves and their families.
