Vanny Casual recently launched their Gemini Collection, another one on their zodiac series, and it is fair to say that it is a worthy show of craftsmanship. This collection breaks away from the brand’s previous collection which was part of their bridal series. It explores the fun side of fashion as it relates to flair and individual expression. It portrays the brand’s ability to diversify and infuse a bit of energy into their designs, especially because it breaks the stereotype of age and certain fashion restrictions that accompany them.
The most outstanding feature about this collection is the vibrant use of colours on some of their two-piece designs. It announces an individual’s presence and elevates them as the centre of attraction. Without a doubt, creating this collection required the team of Vanny Casual to consider factors like fashion accessories, types of occasion, and personality type.
In scope, they could have done more for flexibility. It appears Vanessa made this for party animals, but understandably, since it’s a series, perhaps each collection is targeted at a varying audience. Since Geminis are playful, one can agree that the products align with the theme.
The cargo pants, vintage shirts, crop tops made with adire, and cargo shorts all submit to a certain brief; casual but elegant. The choice of fabrics is very commendable. The blend of denim, corduroy and stretch materials for the pants and shorts adds some swagger to each design, while a choice of cotton material for some of the tops provided comfort for the user.
For flair and packaging, it is an absolute 10/10. Seeing the designs on mannequins looked captivating, but the brand’s insight to accompany each design with a complementing fashion accessory is something fashion designers rarely do. They tapped into the artistic side of fashion by collaborating with bead and leatherwork makers to specifically create neckpieces, bracelets, leather man bags, leather tote bags, and belly beads, all of which added glamour to the collection. Each design was packed in a box with a tiny bits of Gemini sign scribbled all over it.
For affordability, the prices are modest for what each box offers. One can say that Vanny Casual has mastered the art of tailoring to appeal to the sense of prospective buyers. All the designs were neatly stitched, and the ones worn by their guest models were a great fit. One can only wonder what they have in store for their unreleased Aries Collection.
