The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command of Nigeria Police Force, has confirmed the electrocution of a suspected vandal, Mr Muktar Rabiu, while attempting to steal components from a transformer on November 28, 2024.
In a statement issued to newsmen on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, was quoted as saying: “In a striking incident that underscores the ongoing battle against vandalism in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police apprehended a suspect, Muktar Rabiu, during a routine patrol on Christ the King Road in Gwagwalada on 21/11/24. Mr Rabiu was found in possession of high-voltage electricity cables, which authorities believe were stolen from the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
