This year’s Valentine’s celebration took a different dimension in Osun State on Wednesday as the wife of the state Deputy Governor, Mrs. Olusola Adewusi, hosted children with disabilities from ten schools across the state. She assured them that despite their disabilities, they can rule the world.
The Deputy Governor’s wife wined and dined with them in Ile-Ife and advised them to always be focused and directional to make their dreams of becoming champions a reality in life.
The second wife of the state, who made her meeting with the special people dignified, turned the event into a carnival before later empowering some participants with items like wheelchairs, sewing machines, and generating sets worth thousands of naira.

Speaking at the occasion, she charged them to always be optimistic towards achieving their goals, stating that determination leads to success tomorrow, and that “nothing is impossible to achieve with determination.”
She added, “Your disability is not a barrier to your dreams. I want you to believe that nothing is impossible to achieve with determination. Do not allow your status to act as a barrier against you and your auspicious developmental programs in life because you can achieve anything you dream of becoming in life with ease.”
The event, tagged “History Makers,” was also used to celebrate retired teachers who contributed to human development in the state. Mrs. Adewusi described their dedication to humanity and society at large as impactful and prayed to God to endow them with more knowledge.
In her remarks at the event, the wife of the Governor, Ngozi Adeleke, urged philanthropists in the state to always shower love on persons living with disabilities as a means of giving back to society.
