‘US election: Georgia voters reeling from hurricane, poverty may dump Harris for Trump’

Published by

President Joe Biden narrowly secured victory in Georgia in the 2020 US presidential election after getting 49.47 per cent of the vote compared to Donald Trump’s 49.24 per cent.

Republican strategist, James Davis stressed the importance of each vote in the upcoming election.

However, he voiced optimism that the Democrats would not succeed in Georgia, which has now emerged as a pivotal battleground state.

Citing the long-lasting effects of Hurricane Helene on locals, especially in the Southeast, where many experienced prolonged power outages and a delayed federal response, Davis indicated that Kamala Harris’s appeal to these voters may suffer as a result.

Additionally, Davis was confident about Trump’s traction within the African American community, pointing out that African American men he engaged with in Georgia are feeling significant discontent with their financial situations and the Harris administration’s policies.

With a population exceeding 10.7 million, Georgia commands 16 Electoral College votes, with 270 needed to win the presidency.
