A breast milk-inspired ice cream flavour is generating buzz across the United States, though it contains no actual human breast milk.
The creation is a collaboration between OddFellows Ice Cream Co. and baby product company Frida, launched to mark the release of Frida’s new 2-in-1 Manual Breast Pump.
According to ABC7.com, Frida’s Breast Milk Ice Cream is made with typical ice cream ingredients — milk, heavy cream, skim milk powder, egg yolks, and sugar — but also includes honey, fruit juice, and a standout addition: liposomal bovine colostrum.

While the colostrum in the ice cream is derived from cows, the nutrient-rich substance is also found in human breast milk and is known, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, to contain antibodies beneficial for immunity.
Described by Frida as having a sweet and salty taste, the flavour will be available for a limited time at OddFellows’ New York ice cream shop in Dumbo until August 10.
