At least 11 people were injured in a stabbing at a Walmart store in Traverse City, Michigan, officials have confirmed.
One suspect, a Michigan resident, has been taken into custody.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said it was investigating “a multiple stabbing incident at the Wal-Mart in Traverse City”.
Sheriff Michael Shea said the suspect used a “folding knife style weapon” and described the attack as a “random act.”
Footage posted online showed several police and ambulance vehicles in the Walmart carpark.

Nearby Munson Medical Centre confirmed it was treating 11 victims.
“As a result, our Emergency Department is currently experiencing a higher-than-usual volume of patients,” the hospital posted on social media.
Local media reports said three of the victims were undergoing surgery.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said federal personnel were on the ground to support local authorities.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she was “in touch with law enforcement about the horrible news”.
“Our thoughts are with the victims and the community reeling from this brutal act of violence,” she said.
Traverse City is located about 255 miles (410 kilometres) northwest of Detroit.
