Eight persons died, and seven others were injured when a mosque collapsed in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday.
Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, confirmed the tragic occurrence, revealing that the calamity struck during the observance of the Asr prayer at approximately 4 pm.
Disturbingly, even though a crack in the mosque’s wall had been detected a day prior, efforts to address the issue were ongoing, with a team of civil engineers actively involved in the repair process.
The number of casualties has increased from four deaths to eight, and seven others have been confirmed injured.
