A former Senatorial aspirant of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Honourable Damilare Athande Abioro, has called on political gladiators in Ogun State to unite towards the development of the state.
According to the Ogun West politician, the leaders in the state must put aside their political differences in order to groom the vibrant youths to take over from them.
Abioro , who made the call in a letter of leadership mentorship support request sent to former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, described him as an exceptional political leader both in ogun state and Nigeria at large.
Abioro explained that his request despite the political affiliation is due to his beliefs in Amosun’s past administration and leadership role in the country.
He added that the proposed unity among the party leaders will bring the desired development in the state.
According to him, the youths in the state will benefit immensely in such alignment and the future of the state will be in safe hands when the current political leaders mentor and support the passionate youths interested in the system of governance of our beloved country, Nigeria.
“It is a great privilege to receive his acknowledgement and willingness. I am eager to share with him my plans despite the differences in political parties” he said.
“It is high time leaders and stakeholders forget about differences in political parties and focus on youth development in order to move to a greater heights in governance of the State.
“We can’t continue to trade the future of our dear state and great country in the name of political parties and leave behind the youths who have interest in leadership and governance.
“Our leaders must embrace any youth who is committed to good governance and nurture such youth to take over leadership roles from them” Abioro added.
Abioro, however, said his decision to seek mentorship and tutelage from former Governor Amosun does not have political undertones but focused mainly on good governance with youths at the center.
