The authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Akoka have announced the commencement of online registration for this year’s post-UTME screening for prospective students seeking admission into all its undergraduate courses and programmes under the 2024/2025 academic year.
The university has also spelt out criteria for those who are eligible for screening as well as for admission.
The acting registrar of the university, Mrs Olakunle Makinde, announced in a statement made available by the institution’s spokesperson, Mrs Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, on Friday.
According to the registrar, the registration for the screening, which is strictly online and will cost each applicant N2,000, will commence on Monday, 5th of August and end on Friday, 23rd of August while the post-UTME online aptitude test will hold between Monday, 2nd of September and Friday, 6th of September.
She said candidates who made UNILAG their first choice in the last UTME and scored 200 and above are those eligible to apply for the screening. In addition to that, eligible candidates must possess five credit passes at one sitting in relevant O/level subjects including English Language and Mathematics and must have uploaded their O/Level results on JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before the 9th of September, 2024 to be considered for admission.
She noted further that “Candidates, who will not be up to 16 years of age by 31st of October, 2024 are not eligible and therefore need not apply and those who do not participate in the Post-UTME Online Aptitude test will not also be considered for admission.
“Former students of the university whose admissions were withdrawn on the basis of poor academic performance or absence status could re-apply on condition that the new admission shall be for a new programme/course different from the former programme/course.
“Any student expelled from the university cannot be offered fresh admission and anyone tested positive for drugs will not also be admitted or to forfeit admission if such detection takes place after admission had been offered.”
While stating that further details about the registration procedure are on the school’s website, www.unilag.edu.ng, she said UNILAG has zero tolerance for drug abuse and other social vices.
