UNICEF trains Borno teachers in digital literacy, pedagogical skills

UNICEF’s Officer-in-Charge and Education Manager, Caroline Waruguru Mwai, has disclosed that the organization has trained teachers in Borno State in digital literacy and pedagogical skills.

The training supports the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) program, a digital learning platform providing free access to localized content, enabling quality teaching and learning activities.

The platform has reached over 290,000 users, including 190,000 students, across 18 states.

Borno State has seen remarkable growth, with 19,300 learners in 2023 and 36,995 learners in 2024, and over 15,000 actively registered in at least one course.

This initiative aims to improve learning outcomes and create a conducive learning environment for Borno State students.
