Ukodo Festival ignites Delta as Harrysong, Rudeboy, Gordons, others deliver unforgettable show

Delta State came alive over the weekend as some of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment heavyweights stormed the oil-rich region for the highly anticipated Ukodo Festival — an electrifying celebration of music, comedy, and culture that left thousands buzzing with excitement.

Fronted by Afro-pop sensation Harrysong, the event drew a spectacular mix of superstars, including Rudeboy of P-Square, comedian Gordons, Nasboi, and energetic hype man Do2dtun, who anchored the night with relentless vibes. The festival, held in partnership with the Delta State Government under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, aimed to unify the people through entertainment and position the state as a thriving hub for talent and creativity.

The name Ukodo — a traditional Delta delicacy made with yam and pepper soup — symbolized the cultural roots of the festival. But beyond the food, it was the powerful blend of sound, rhythm, and laughter that truly satisfied the crowd. The atmosphere was festive from the moment the gates opened, with music pumping and fans streaming in from all corners of the state and beyond.

Harrysong, a proud son of Delta, took the crowd on a nostalgic journey with his hit songs and gave an emotional tribute to his hometown roots. “Ukodo Festival is not just a show, it’s a movement — a way of bringing our people together and showing the world that something big is cooking in Delta,” he said on stage to loud applause.

Rudeboy, fresh off a series of international performances, didn’t hold back as he lit up the stage with crowd-favorites like “Reason With Me” and “Audio Money,” while Nasboi brought his dual talents of comedy and music to deliver a set that was both hilarious and high-energy.

Comedy icon Gordons, another Delta-born star, used his set to celebrate the resilience and unity of his people. “Delta has always had the rawest talent in Nigeria — from music to comedy, and tonight, you’re seeing it live,” he told the audience in a thunderous segment that had the crowd roaring with laughter.

Up-and-coming artists also got their moment in the spotlight as part of the festival’s vision to give new platforms to rising stars. Several emerging talents thrilled the audience, proving that Delta’s future in the entertainment space is as bright as ever.

The festival was marked not just by performances but also by cultural exhibitions, fashion showcases, and a culinary section that honored Delta’s rich cuisine — with ukodo taking center stage in more than just name.

Governor Oborevwori, who was in attendance, praised the organizers and emphasized his administration’s commitment to youth engagement through the creative industry. “Entertainment is a powerful tool for unity and economic growth. Ukodo Festival is just the beginning of what we plan for the creative minds of Delta,” he said.

The success of the festival is already generating buzz on social media, with attendees flooding timelines with videos, pictures, and rave reviews. #UkodoFestival2025 trended nationwide for hours, with fans calling for it to become an annual fixture.

For a state rich in heritage and brimming with untapped talent, Ukodo Festival marked a new chapter — one that blends celebration with opportunity. And if this year’s edition is anything to go by, Delta might just be cooking up something much bigger in the years to come.
