Rising United Kingdom-based gospel saxophonist, artiste and stage performer, Victor Ajayi better known as Veeesax has released an extended play titled “Heart of Worship.”
The new EP marks Veeesax’s first release in 2024. The three+track extended play with a duration of forty minutes finds the saxophonist belting notes, worshipping God.
In a press statement heralding the release, Veeesax said, “So, Iam a Christian to start with, everything I do is driven by the scripture. This release is borne out of the Book of Revelation chapter four verse eleven, which says, thou art worthy oh Lord to receive glory, honour and power, for thou had created all things and for the pleasure, they are, and were created.
“As believers, the essence of our lives is to worship God, whether in our career life or family life, it is the hallmark of our existence. That’s why God created us, to give HIM Pleasure. The purpose of this release is to stir the heart of worship in everyone, connecting us to Yahweh.”
On what has kept him away from releasing music for the past eight months, he said, “I have never been away from music. I do music every day. And you know music takes time, you don’t want to rush it. That’s why there was like a break between the previous release and this one.
“Also, I have been trying to get the best team to deliver the job. When it comes to music, it is not a one-man show, you need to have the right team that connects with your vision for the project, so that you can deliver it. It is just like working on a movie, you can’t just pick random people, you have to pick people who can actually bring to light what you have envisioned, to think of it as a mix of so many things. So being away from music, not at all. Music is part of me.”
According to the cyber security expert, the EP took him close to six months to bring to fruition. He also confirmed his plan to release a debut studio album later in the year.
Veeesax has been surrounded by music right from an early age. Born in Jebba, Kwara State, his childhood which was spent between Kwara State, Kogi State, Ogun State and Lagos State provided the needed sonic foundation.
Artistes like Panam Percy Paul, Ron Kenoly, Kirk Whalum, and Pastor Kunle Ajayi, Lagbaja have all played a part in his music journey. Now, he is a man of himself as he sets out to follow his own path.
