Truck crushes two siblings to death, Ibadan truck crushes

Two siblings were confirmed dead on Saturday in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo local government area of Ondo state when a truck loaded with sand crushed them to death.

The incident occurred at the Idi mango area along Okitipupa/ Ore road when the two siblings who were riding on a motorcycle rammed into the truck, killing them instantly.

The state Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Ezekiel SonAllah, confirmed the incident to newsmen, saying the incident was caused by the carelessness of the deceased.

He explained that the accident which occurred at 10:55 am involved a motorcycle and truck loaded with sand and said the deceased who was at excessive speed, lost control and rammed into the truck.

According to him, the two occupants of the motorcycle died immediately before any help could reach them.

SonAllah said “According to an eyewitness account, the rider of the motorcycle was moving at excessive speed and could not control the motorcycle while approaching the truck loaded with sand and rammed into two truck with his brother.

“They said the victims who were on a motorcycle slipped and rammed into the truck coming along Okitipupa route.”

He said the remains of the two victims were deposited at Ore General Hospital Mortuary while the vehicle was towed to the police station in Ore.

“The victims’ corpses were deposited at General Hospital Mortuary Ore, and the crashed vehicles were handed over to NPF Ore Division”

He, however, warned motorcycle riders to always avoid overspeeding and comply with traffic laws to avoid unwarranted accidents and death.
