Troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed over 25 armed terrorists, rescued 7 victims, and destroyed the camp of notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji in the Fakai area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Center for Operation Fansan Yamma, confirmed that the troops successfully dismantled terrorist hideouts in Fakai on January 10, 2025.
The offensive operation, supported by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, led to the clearing of several terrorist camps, including those of Bello Turji and Mallam Ila. Over 25 terrorists were neutralized in the operation, with more than 18 others sustaining gunshot wounds.

The operation also resulted in the escape of 7 kidnapped victims from the terrorists’ camps. Lt. Col. Abdullahi noted that the operation dealt a significant blow to the terrorist network.
He reaffirmed that Operation Fansan Yamma will continue to pursue and neutralize all terrorist elements within its operational area.
The statement concluded with a warning to terrorist leaders and their associates, urging them to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally. The operation pledged continued efforts to restore peace and security to the affected communities.
