#TribunePlatinumAwards: My greatest achievement as Osun governor ― Oyinlola

Former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said his greatest achievement as the governor of the state nine years ago was to broker peace between Modakeke and Ife indigenes after over 100 years of hostility.

The former governor stated this while receiving the prestigious Tribune’s Platinum Award, on Tuesday, in Lagos.

Oyinlola noted that aside from other achievements of his administration, ending the indigenous fight between the neighbouring town remaining topmost as it was believed that nothing could end the war that had lasted centuries, but with the help of the Obokun and Ife monarchs.

While appreciating the Board and Management of African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) PLC, publishers of Tribune titles, Oyinlola noted that the award was special to him as it signified that he remained relevance even nine years after leaving the office.
