Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has felicitated the Board, Management and Staff of African Newspapers of Nigeria (ANN) Plc, publishers of the Nigerian Tribune Newspapers on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.
The governor who extolled the founder of the tabloid, late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, noted that “the late Sage’s legacies in almost all sectors have continued to speak of his patriotism, intellect and uncommon wisdom.”

Inuwa Yahaya recalled the incisive editorials as well as columns of the oldest Nigerian privately-owned newspaper, which serves as resource materials for individuals, businesses and academic institutions, and have shaped policy direction of successive governments.
The governor urged the board and management to consistently keep faith with the vision of the founding fathers and its ‘people-first’ philosophy at all times as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, senior special assistant, media and publicity to the governor.
