In line with the last April directive by the Benin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) to its members to desist from defending suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and people involved in heinous crimes, counsel to the Chairman of the outlawed Uniaro Community Development Association, Mr. Monday Edegbe have withdrawn legal service to the accused.
Mrs. Mercy Iserhienrhien Nosakhare, 59, a farmer, had died from injuries sustained from a headbutt to her chest, at Uniaro in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State, by Edegbe and ten others now at large.

In suit Number, B/CD/204C/2019, Justice Ohimai Ovbiagele of a Benin High Court had to adjourn the case to June 28, 2019, for trial following the withdrawal of the accused legal team.
The youth leader who was docked under Section 324, 319, Section 1(2) (a), 451 and 42/of the Criminal Code At Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 is facing
a nine-count charge of murder, conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful damage of property, thuggery in the small town amongst others.
The accused is however yet to take his plea on any of the nine-count charges.
