HAVING given kudos to the boss and staff of the Teachers Regulation Council of Nigeria (TRCN) for conducting a successful nationwide qualifying examination for teachers, what would be agitating the minds of many prospective teachers is how the expected benefits would not elude them.
I advise the council to work with faculties of education in tertiary institutions so that the idea of pushing students with the lowest cut-off marks into the faculty of education is stopped.
Professor Joshua Ajiboye and his staff should look beyond the mere conduct of examinations.
They should make sure that certified teachers are treated well and accorded due respect, like other professionals.
