Toyosi speaks on why she left Funke Akindele’s Jenifa’s Diary

Published by

Days back, news filtered in that Oloyede Juliana, also known as Toyobaby in Funke Akindele’s Jenifer’s Diary, will no longer be part of the comedy series

She was said to have been dropped by Akindele over what was termed as irreconciliable differences. But the actress has come out to say that she was not fired by Akindele but decided to move on from the series that has become favourites of many families.

According to her, “I was not fired by Funke Akindele. She’s my very big sister and I respect her so much. It is not out of place for an actress to be part of a series and later move on to face other things. But let me state it clearly that myself and aunty Funke did not have any issue as against what was reported in the media.”

Akindele is yet to release an official statement on the exit of Toyosi but it was learnt that she has started filming the new series without Toyosi.

While many people wondered what could have caused the split, R gathered that it may not be unconnected with a demand for a pay rise on the part of Toyosi.
