According to the musician, the new work, which was officially released on Saturday as it coincides with his wedding anniversary, was part of his effort to clear the air that he is getting tired of music or switched to another ‘calling’, adding, “I have been much active in doing my thing, but I do more of performing at one event or the other to fans and audiences both within and outside the country.”
The Olo Mi crooner further noted that, “I haven’t grown tired of music neither have I diverted to other things apart from all the things I have always done, which are largely music related. My guess is maybe, I haven’t been as visible in the media as in the early days and one can understand that in the light of the growing number of players in the business today. Now, I also want to share the words and music with as many couples and intending couples whilst recalling memories of my own wedding.”
Martins, who has become a brand with his style of music, and the toast of people, especially when it comes to love songs, also hinted that he would not deviate from his band, saying, “I am committed to giving my best to stay true to my inspiration and influence whilst evolving my sound. Music is about being true. It’s the whole essence of the medium. That is what informs my unique approach to my music. I believe there is a planet of people for every style and sound and one has to keep faith with it. Going by the support and love I’ve enjoyed till date I can’t complain too much.”
R also learnt that new newly released love song was produced by Justice Adigho (J Piano) in conjunction with Tosin Martins and also had the touch of ace producer/Yamaha ambassador, Wole Oni and other seasoned musicians.
