Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has set the record straight about her views on men, insisting she is far from anti-men and describing herself instead as a “hopeless romantic.”
Speaking on her podcast, the media star addressed misconceptions about her often being perceived as someone who “bashes men.”
According to her, this misinterpretation has overshadowed her true personality.
Toke went on to share a deeply personal moment, revealing that she had prayed to become a mother before her 40th birthday.
She disclosed that her prayer was answered just weeks after she turned 40 in November last year, as she became pregnant in December.
“The popular belief out there is that I bash men, I hate men. It’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic.
“People didn’t know I was depressed. Till now, people didn’t know why I had that thanksgiving service, and I’ve never talked about it till now.
“At the start, I told God I wanted to turn 40 a mum.
“I turned 40 in November, and He did it in December. He didn’t fail. God is never late. He just didn’t do it the way I thought it would happen,” she said.
Toke expressed gratitude to God for the blessing, emphasising her belief that His timing is always perfect.
