Brian Ankapong Gray is one of the most sought-after celebrity photographers in Ghana, In this interview by ROTIMI IGE, he speaks on his passion for capturing memories, his experience in the industry, among other things.

How did you discover your love for photography?

I discovered my love for photography in 2014 when I used to follow one particular fashion photographer called Duque photography formerly known as FocusGh photography. in those days I wanted to be an art producer, I didn’t even know what that was but I just wanted to produce an art piece. Then I fell in love with photography.

What type of photography do you do?

Lifestyle and commercial photography

Tell us some of the celebrities you have worked with?

I have worked with Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Camidoh, Tiwa Savage, Nigerian actress, Chioma Akpotha, Sarkodie, King Promise and a lot more.

What was your experience working with them?

Working with these celebrities has opened many doors for me to explore and also helped my brand.

What are the elements of a good photograph?

The elements of a good photograph include colour, light, composition.

Can you tell us the challenges in photography?

So far, the only challenge I face is when I meet difficult clients.

You recently worked with Tiwa Savage on the ‘Water and Garri’ project. How was the experience?

Firstly, I never imagined that I would someday get to have Tiwa Savage in front of my lens and that alone was a blessing. I learnt a lot from that production and a big thanks to Meji Alabi and Jimmy Adesanya, these guys taught me a lot and made my work so easy.

What’s your advice for creatives like you?

My advice for creatives is never stop creating because the more you do, the more you learn and never give up.

How do you relax?

I watch movies or go on a solo trip.

What would have been if not a photographer?

I would have been a pilot if I wasn’t a photographer.

What other projects are you into?

I’m into real estate photography and reels too.

I also have a music entertainment show called Much Vibe on instagram, it was Inspired by Amazing Klef.
