The nation’s capital on Tuesday hosted a major political mobilisation as thousands of supporters under the platform of the Tinubu Mega Group (TMG) converged on Abuja for what organisers described as a National Unity Rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his prospective re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The rally drew participants from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with organisers claiming that more than 1,500 groups attended the event.
The gathering featured representatives of professional bodies, civil society organisations, youth associations, religious groups, artisans, traders, women’s groups and grassroots mobilisers.
At the event, the coalition formally presented what it described as the endorsement of “20 million Nigerians” in support of another four-year term for President Tinubu, arguing that ongoing reforms and development initiatives should be sustained beyond 2027.
Addressing supporters, TMG National Spokesperson, Tijani Ali Danjuma, said the rally reflected growing support for continuity in governance and confidence in the administration’s reform agenda.
According to him, despite prevailing economic challenges and global headwinds, the Tinubu administration had demonstrated commitment to addressing long-standing national issues through reforms and infrastructure development.
He cited ongoing infrastructure projects, investments in local refining, economic stabilisation efforts, social intervention programmes, support for state governments, and reforms aimed at strengthening governance and attracting investments.
Danjuma also highlighted the student loan initiative as a programme expanding opportunities for young Nigerians, adding that efforts were underway to strengthen the naira, boost food production and reposition the economy for long-term growth.
“The people have spoken. Nigerians are choosing continuity over confusion and progress over propaganda,” he told the gathering.

Speaking on behalf of professionals across various sectors, Dr. Tabuko Kennedy said members of the professional community were backing the administration because reforms required consistency to achieve their intended outcomes.
Representing doctors, lawyers, engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, creatives, artisans and technocrats, Kennedy warned against abandoning ongoing reforms midway, saying it could negatively impact national development.
He argued that the administration had demonstrated commitment to economic rebuilding, infrastructure expansion, improved revenue generation and support for local industries.
“As professionals, we understand that difficult reforms are never easy at the beginning, but we also know that abandoning reforms halfway can damage national progress,” he said.
Kennedy further declared that “there is no vacancy in Aso Rock in 2027,” a statement that drew applause from supporters.
Religious leaders at the rally also urged Nigerians to support national development efforts and remain patient amid ongoing reforms.
Representing the Christian community, Bishop Kola Oyedepo described the current phase of national development as one requiring sacrifice, wisdom and collective responsibility.
He argued that reforms, including economic restructuring, infrastructure projects, student loan support and local refining initiatives, were essential foundations for future growth.
“Every wise builder must first lay a solid foundation. Nigeria today is in the process of rebuilding and restructuring its foundation for a stronger future,” he stated.
Similarly, Islamic cleric Sheik Abubakar Mustapha called for unity, patience and peaceful coexistence, stressing that meaningful reforms often require time and sustained leadership.
He commended the administration’s focus on infrastructure, governance reforms, educational support programmes and local refining projects, while cautioning against divisive politics.
The rally was one of the largest political gatherings witnessed in Abuja in recent months, with participants displaying banners and placards bearing inscriptions such as “20 Million Nigerians Support Tinubu,” “Continuity for National Development,” and “One Voice, One Vision, One Nigeria.”
