A group under the aegis of ‘Tiv Youths Council’, TYC yesterday declared their support for the re-election of President Muhammad Buhari.
Speaking at a press conference held in Makurdi, president of the group, Mike Msuuan said that the group had appraised the performance of president Buhari and found him capable and credible to be given a second term.
Msuuan said, ‘to this end, we have mandated all our 23 LGAs coordinators and zonal officers to immediately commence massive mobilization for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, this Saturday.”
“We believe that the soft arrangements of exchanging power shifts between the two regions of the country (North and South) is good for national cohesion.

“We believe that any change from the present Northern candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari to another different Northern Candidate will alter the arrangement because should there be a change mistakenly, the PDP candidate may wish to still exercise his constitutional right of two terns of 8 years.”
Msuaan who scored Buhari’s administration high maintained that the present government had done well in areas of road construction, aviation, railway resuscitation, and youth empowerment especially the N: Power initiatives as well as the agricultural revolution which he said had boosted the nation’s international reputation.
The group warned the electorates against making a mistake of giving back our country to people they described as ‘looters and scavengers’, admonishing the people to vote for Buhari and other credible candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The ‘Tiv youths also called on Nigerians to avoid making inflammatory speeches before, during and after the reschedule elections so as not to throw the country into flames.
Msuaan called on security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to be more civil, impartial and strict to the provisions of their constitutional duties during the elections.
“All forms of political agitations should be constructive and followed the constitutional channels. We should cooperate with security agents for the protection of our lives and properties. We are one people with a common destiny and we should learn to embrace one another in love, peace and unity.”
