THE lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Honourable Abiodun Olasupo has asserted confidence in the ability of National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to resolve to wrangle among party members, noting that the reconciliation task was more targeted at 2023 success than the 2019 elections.
Describing the 2019 election as a foreclosed victory for the APC, Olasupo said the fear of leaders and members of the party was whether the party would continue to hold sway in 2023.
Noting that Tinubu commanded the respect of party members, Olasupo said the party’s 2019 success will begin with its winning the forthcoming governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti states.
Olasupo who made these comments during his empowerment programme for women of his constituency to commemorate the 2018 International Women’s Day, said Tinubu’s appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari was a masterstroke for the party’s successes in 2019 and beyond.
“The internal strife in the party is worrisome. It is worrisome and scary but it is a strife that cannot go beyond the capacity of the party leadership to resolve.

“I tell people that care to listen that 2019 is a foregone conclusion. Let us talk about 2023. Our fear should be 2023, not 2019.
“The reconciliation assignment has been given to the person that can do it, and that is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and he is going to do it. If you meet anybody that really knows what is going on in Nigerian politics, he or she will tell you that all the crisis you see today is not about 2019 but 2023.
“The respect we have for Asiwaju is not just because he is a leader of the party but because of his ingenuity. He is a numero uno leader and I assure you that he will settle all the crisis.
“2019 election is a foreclosed victory for the APC. The party will also win the forthcoming election in Osun and Ekiti states,” he said.
The programme saw Olasupo provide startup capital to the tune of N25 million to about 1,000 women.
Chairman of the occasion, Mr Fatai Ibikunle, urged the members of the party to unite ahead of the 2019 election.
Ibikunle, who is Chairman, Governing Board, National Lottery Regulatory Commission lauded Olasupo’s programmes as one that will go a long way in improving the lives of constituents.
Also speaking, the State APC Women Leader, Mrs Mabel Williams and a former Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Mr Saheed Alaran described Olasupo as a responsive and responsible representative always keen on giving back to his constituents.
