President Bola Tinubu has directed the Ministers of Finance, Wale Edun, and Education, Prof Tahir Mamman to explore ways to pay the four months’ salaries being withheld from university non-teaching staff comprising Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU).
President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, disclosed this to correspondents after the meeting of the leadership of the organized labour with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
He said the labour unions reported the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command to the President over the forceful stoppage of the peaceful protest to register their grievances over their withheld salaries.
