President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje and the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio are expected to attend the 2023 International Youth Day.
Also expected at the occasion are: Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who doubles as Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), as well as Governor Yahaya Bello, Governor Fubara, amongst others.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the Executive Director, African Youth Resource Centre, Mr. Ben Duntoye, noted that the annual event which is declared by the United Nations theme for 2023 is ‘Green Skills for Youth, towards a sustainable world, will hold at the Executive Hall, International Conference Centre, Abuja on Monday, 14th August 2023 by 1.00 pm.
He explained that the ceremony is being organized in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and major Youths and Students bodies including National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) and Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC).
According to him, “Youth Leaders are expected from across African countries and from all the states in the country”
“This year IYD will feature the public presentation of a book titled: Youth rising: Harnessing the potentials and aspirations of Nigerian Youth towards a greater nation’.”
Mr. Duntoye who is a former President of the Pan African Youth Union (PAYU) said the book authored by him is a product of his years of experience in You Guy Development work.
He noted that the book would serve as resource material for Youth Administrators and will inspire young people.
This year IYD would be honoured by top dignitaries from the public and private sectors.
