Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson has boldly declared his dominance in the Nollywood industry, stating, “This is my time. This is my moment, and I am going to use it well and make it count.” The actor made this assertion while sharing his thoughts on his Instagram page where he reflected on his career and his growing influence in the industry.

Egbuson’s recent statement aligns with his earlier claim of being the biggest actor in Africa. He has earned significant attention over the past few years, featuring in a number of blockbuster films. His impressive filmography includes roles in top movies such as Funke Akindele’s A Tribe Called Judah, Meeting Funmi’s Parents, Ajosepo, Jide, and All’s Fair in Love, all set for release in 2024.

Discussing his career in a recent podcast, Egbuson emphasised his unwavering dedication. “I have been acting for 15 years consistently. I’ve never had a time off or fall off for 15 years,” he said. This consistency has not only kept him relevant but has also inspired many young actors looking to break into the industry.

Egbuson believes he has significantly influenced the Nollywood landscape by creating opportunities for new school young actors. “I genuinely opened up the way for a lot of new school young actors,” he remarked. He pointed out that when he started, there were very few lead roles available for young men, as the industry predominantly favored older actors or women for such roles.

The actor recounted his early days in Nollywood when young male actors were mostly given minor roles. “Nobody was actively writing lead roles for young men,” he said, underscoring the scarcity of significant opportunities for young male talents. Egbuson’s success in securing lead roles has helped shift this dynamic, providing a pathway for others to follow.

Egbuson humbly spoke about pioneering the leading male young actor category in Nollywood. “When I joined Nollywood, there were no lead roles for young men. You either had to be an old man or a lady,” he explained. His journey from these beginnings to his current status exemplifies his impact on the industry.

Despite his achievements, Egbuson maintains a modest perspective on his success. “I said that very humbly because when I joined Nollywood, there were no lead roles for young men,” he reiterated. His journey reflects not only his talent but also his resilience and determination in an evolving industry.

Summarising his accomplishments, Egbuson confidently stated, “If you put everything that I’ve accomplished together, I believe that I am the biggest actor in Africa.” His belief is supported by a prolific career and a significant impact on Nollywood, underscoring his position as a leading figure in the industry.
