Procrastination, they say, is the thief of time. It is time for President Muhammadu Buhari to take drastic action on the menace of kidnapping and rape which is currently ravaging the country.
Almost on a daily basis, there are reports of the rape of underage girls across the country. The Federal Government and the government of the 36 states should tackle this problem now and put a drastic stop to it. Other states should emulate Lagos, which has just passed a law prescribing death penalty for kidnapping, where the victim dies while in the custody of kidnappers. Also, the House of Representatives and the Senate should rise to the occasion.
If these twin evils are not addressed, foreign investors may be discouraged from bringing their businesses to Nigeria.
