There is tight security at the Federal High Court in Abuja as the trial of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello resumes on charges of alleged money laundering involving N80.2 billion.
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are stationed at the court, armed with various firearms, and have blocked one of the main roads leading to the court complex.
It is worth noting that the Federal High Court in Abuja had granted Bello bail in the sum of N500 million on Friday, December 13, 2024, with two sureties in a similar amount.
The former governor has pleaded not guilty to the 19 counts brought against him by the anti-graft agency.
