Thspian, in collaboration with screenwriter Lois Truly, has announced the winners of the “Truly A Monologue” competition.
This global contest showcased the art of monologue performance, attracting a diverse and talented group of participants.
Gina Castel won the Jury Selection for Female with her emotionally charged and technically flawless performance. An actress, voice-over artist, and freelance fashion illustrator, Gina has featured in award-winning films like “Slow Country” on Netflix and series such as “Dede” and “Wildfire.” Her work includes commercials for brands like MTN and BBC radio dramas.
Andrew Tandoh-Adote, the Male Jury Selection winner, impressed judges with his nuanced and engaging performance. A professional actor and voice-over artist since 2008, Andrew has performed in over 50 plays, including “The Gods Are Not to Blame” and “Legend of Aku Sika.” His screen credits include series like “Dede” and the movie “Beasts of No Nation.”
Princess Fathia Nkrumah won the Audience Award with her energetic and compelling performance. As a model, actor, voice-over artist, producer, and TV host, she has honed her skills through high school competitions and training at the Identity School of Acting. She hosts “The Phenomenal Lady Show” and has acted in shows like “Living With Trisha” and films like “Single Not Searching.”
Arion Amon received the “Special Recognition” Award for his impactful monologue. An actor, musician, and voice-over artist, Arion began his acting career in 2022 with a role on “Dede” and has continued to build his portfolio with roles in series and short films.
The competition was judged by a panel of theatre and film professionals, who evaluated performances based on emotional depth, technical skill, originality, and overall impact. Thspian congratulates all winners and participants, celebrating the incredible talent and creativity within its community.
