The police on Thursday arraigned three applicants, Nnaemeka John, 20, Abdulwahab Abdulmalik, 19, and Emmanuel Sunday, 20, at Life camp Magistrates’ Court in Abuja for allegedly attacking and robbing one Mohammed Salami.
The defendants, who resides at Mpape, Abuja, are standing trial on a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, causing hurt and robbery.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Noel Omeje, had told the court that on Nov. 29, Salami reported at Mpape Police Station that on the same date while returning from work, he was attacked and beaten up by the defendants and the sum of N12,000 in his pocket was stolen by them.

Omeje said with the help of some people around, one of the defendants, John, was apprehended and it was during police investigation that Abdulmalik and Sunday were arrested.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 97,300 and 298 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, denied committing the offences.
Cynthia Nnamdi, their defence counsel, urged the court to grant her clients bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Chinyere Nwecheonwu, granted each of the defendants N400,000 bail and one surety in like sum.
She further adjourned the matter until March 23 for hearing.
