The senator style

Having gained its popularity from Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan, years later, the senator style is still waxing strong. The name senator was also adopted for the style due to the preference of the then senate president Anyim Pius Anyim.  Beyond senators, the style has become common place with classy men today.

I am seeking re-election to correct Nigeria’s ills, Buhari declares in Kano

The senator style is one that looks and feels sharp and sophisticated.  The style is also matured and slightly reserved. The shirt, which is the centrepiece of the senator attire varies from person to person. Regardless of individual preferences, the style shirts are usually long, riding close to the knee. The shirt gets wider towards the end to ease the wearer and fit the body shape. A number of the style wears are usually embroidered. While this remains a choice, it usually gives the style a classier feel.

How do you slay in your senator style material?

Accessories first: The beauty of the style is in the accessories. While all other accessories tips for natives stands, the senator style is a unique style that requires the best of accessories. You should go for a gold or silver chain, ensure that whatever metal you choose must be consistent with other metal accessories you choose.

Long sleeve senator style will require a cufflink pair. Remember to keep the metal type in mind as well. You could also go with a pocket square or a lapel pin. While the choice of a pocket square is based on the availability of a discreet pocket on the shirt, a lapel pin can come in handy regardless.

To complete the classy look, you would have to choose a cap to go. The cap that works best with the senator style contrasts with the colour of the material. While it is not necessary, donning a cap alongside your senator style places you in a class of your own.

Shoes speak louder than words: The best thing that has ever happened to the senator style is when it is in the company of a good pair of shoes. However, you should not wear just any shoes with the style. You should not wear a laced shoe while rocking the senator style, you should rather go for a monk strap shoe or a tasselled shoe.

It’s time to go disrupt the runway norms in your classy senator style.
