“I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding; And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down. Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction. Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.” Proverbs 24:30-34.

Laziness, the unwillingness to work, is a bad habit that has the tendency to plague anyone. When a person is lazy he is idle, indolent, slothful, inactive, under-active, sluggish, lethargic, remiss, slack, lax, lackadaisical. Laziness is the failure to act or perform as expected due to a lack of individual effort.

Laziness is a selfish desire to abandon responsibilities and live off the hard work of others.

“Laziness is a state where you don’t want to do anything, you’re totally unwilling to spend your energy. When you think doing a task is very difficult and even impossible for you this state is known as laziness. It’s your desire to do nothing and remain idle like a lifeless body. A lazy person just wants to live a comfortable and luxurious life he just can’t use his physical energy. If you can simply lie down and relax then why would you want to work to achieve your goals?“ Diksha Mittal

Laziness is not healthy.

“It is the biggest enemy of your life. If you will be lazy then you will be only confused and you can’t acquire any significant position in your life.

It doesn’t reduce only the ability and productivity of a person but it also effects on our body as well as health.

The brain of a lazy person doesn’t work properly. They take more time to answer any question and sometimes they are not able to understand the question because of their weak memory. To remove all this problem and to become intelligent, skillful we should quit laziness first.” Jugaadugirls.com

Laziness is an enemy we must not allow any inroad into our lives. Laziness is destructive and will rob us of the ability to make our lives to count.

Laziness is misplaced priority.

“Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.” Jules Renard

Many things can cause laziness among which are indiscipline, lack of motivation, distraction, indecisiveness, fear of failure, low self esteem etc

“God’s Word makes it very clear that we are instructed to work hard and put our best effort forward. The Bible, especially in the wisdom-filled book of Proverbs, speaks often of the cause and effect relationship of hard work and rewards as well as laziness and ruin. Colossians 3:23 tells us a Christian should “work with all their heart as working for the Lord”. Our work is probably one of the greatest testimonies of our faith! Laziness has no place in the character of a follower of Jesus.” Biblestudytools.com
