Teniola Aladese shines in psychological drama ‘Gone’

Nigerian psychological drama, “Gone”, has garnered attention with its compelling narrative and talented ensemble cast, led by Teniola Aladese. The film, directed by Omotola Oke and Anjola Aluko, and written by Winner Achimugu, tells the story of Damola Akinola, who receives mysterious gifts and letters from his absent father every year on his birthday. However, on his 25th birthday, a shocking discovery in the family’s septic tank sets off a chain of events that exposes deep-seated family secrets and emotional wounds.

Teniola Aladese shines as Detective Christie Obi, who leads the investigation into the mysterious find. The film’s producer, Izzy Besta, praised Aladese’s performance, saying, “We knew we needed someone with incredible range to play Christie Obi, someone who could carry both the weight of justice and the empathy of a woman witnessing a family’s unravelling. Teniola didn’t just play the role; she transformed it.”

“Gone” boasts a talented cast, including Paul Nnadiekwe, Kelechi Udegbe, and Tolu Odewumi. The film has earned a nomination in the Best MultiChoice Talent Factory Film category at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), which will take place May 2024 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. With its gripping storyline and outstanding performances, “Gone” is a must-watch for fans of psychological dramas.
