In line with his commitment to building and empowering entrepreneurs across Africa, starting with Nigeria, the founder of the African Economic Merit Awards (AEMA), McEva Temofe, has launched the AEMAinspire University Tour.

This project is targeted at university students and aims to inspire them to become entrepreneurs, employers of labour, and business executives.

The maiden edition of the AEMAinspire University Tour is scheduled to take place on July 20 at the University of Abuja, and plans for the event are already at an advanced stage.

The session, which will be held at the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, University of Abuja, starting from 11 am, will feature mentoring for entrepreneurs by Temofe, as well as pep talks from experts including Dr Olushola Aluko, CEO of The Yellow Umbrella Media Concept; Buffy Okeke-Ojiudu, CEO of Zebra Group; and Japhet Omojuwa, Founder of Alpha Reach. Additionally, lucky participants will have the opportunity to receive grants worth N2 million from AEMA.

According to Temofe, AEMA is an organization present in 17 African countries, focusing on economic impact and developmental projects.

The university tour aims to provide grants and startup kits to students, helping them develop existing projects. Successful professionals will mentor these young entrepreneurs, enabling them to build lasting enterprises.

Temofe highlighted that AEMA is driven by young professionals who seek to promote innovative ideas for entrepreneurial, economic, and social development.

The tour’s objective is to inspire students to pursue careers in entrepreneurship and raise awareness about the importance of youth involvement in political affairs for a better Africa.

The theme, “Safeguarding The Nigerian Economy Through Entrepreneurs,” was carefully chosen to encourage and stimulate business prowess among youths. The tour will visit numerous universities, raising awareness among students about the need to pursue careers in entrepreneurship to boost Africa’s economy and promote good governance.

Temofe stated, “We believe the young generation we have today has to be part of the movement for a better economy. We must also create significant awareness for them to participate in politics and governance so that we can have good government in Africa and in Nigeria.”

The African Economic Merit Awards aims to boost economic growth in African communities by connecting successful business entrepreneurs with latent talents.

The organization works to instil hope in Africans who may have abandoned their creative ideas and business skills, guiding them towards a successful future.

The maiden edition of AEMA’s Economic Varsity Tour of Nigeria was held at BAZE University, Abuja, where stakeholders commended the organization for introducing an idea with the potential to transform Africa’s economy.
