Mr Tejuoso had, on Wednesday, addressed a press conference where he said, among other things, that the said property where his family was ejected on the order of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode was never meant for any deputy speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly and that the family paid a total sum of N150 million to acquire it in the name of the company belonging to them.
This was just as he said that barely no structure beside a building made of wooden planks existed on the land when it was first acquired, insisting that the structure now existing on it was erected by himself and his wife, Honourable Tejuoso.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Steve Ayorinde, made this clarification in a statement made available to newsmen at Alausa, Ikeja, just as he further clarified that the matter in question did not involve the Governor’s Office as being erroneously alleged.
According to Ayorinde, who said the state government ought not to have made any reply to “befuddling” statement made by Mr Tejuosho and by extension dignify him “being neither an official of Lagos State nor the purported beneficiary of the government property,” but would do so in order not to have the public misinformed.
Meanwhile, the family of the former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Funmi Tejuosho, has carpeted the state government ,describing it as “ a liar.”
Husband of the former deputy speaker, Prince Kayode Tejuosho, who spoke with journalists on behalf of the family, also described his family’s eviction from their former official residence as “persecution and uncommon vendetta.”
Tejuosho, whose family was evicted from their 3A Sasegbon Street, Ikeja, GRA home by the Lagos State government over alleged illegal sale, also called for a thorough investigation and prosecution of those who allegedly made the illegal sale.”
A mild drama, however, ensued as armed policemen who were station at the entrance of the sealed building chased Tejuosho and journalists who converged in front of the building for a press conference away .
The husband of the Lagos former deputy speaker also denied that his family underpaid for the building ,insisting that he paid N150 million after the state government approved a 25 per cent deduction from the initial N200 million offer.
