A Lagos State-based teacher, Gbolahan Osinusi, has been arrested for allegedly continuously defiling a 17-year-old girl since she was 12 years old.

In a separate incident, the police in Lagos have also arrested a 17-year-old houseboy, Daniel Silas, for allegedly defiling a 5-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother.

The 42-year-old teacher allegedly procured abortions for the teenager multiple times during the period of the defilement.

The Lagos State police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed both incidents to the Nigerian Tribune.

On September 30, 2024, a case of defilement and abortion was transferred from Festac Division to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.

The complainant alleged that Gbolahan Osinusi, a teacher at a school in Ketu-Epe, Lagos State, and also the guardian to her 12-year-old daughter, had been having sexual intercourse with her since she was 12 years old until December 2023, when she was 17 years old.

The complainant added that Gbolahan Osinusi forced the survivor to swear on oath not to tell anyone or else she would die. He also took her to a nurse named Mariam Fatolu for abortion drugs to be administered to her whenever she got pregnant.

Gbolahan Osinusi has been charged to court, while Mariam Fatolu is currently admitted for medical attention at General Hospital Ketu-Epe. She will be charged to court as soon as possible.

In the second case, a mother of two children reported at Dopemu Police Station that her 5-year-old daughter and her 10-year-old son were being sexually molested by their 17-year-old houseboy, Daniel Silas.

The complainant alleged that Silas defiled both children in the house whenever she was not at home. The complainant stated further that Silas had sexual intercourse with her son through his anus.

Upon questioning, the alleged suspect confessed to the crime. Daniel Silas was arraigned in court on October 18, 2024, and was remanded at the Special Correctional Centre, Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, due to his age of 17.
